The following is a list of our most frequently asked questions.
What is your reservation policy?
June through August reservations are weekly and only: Saturday-Friday and require a second deposit by April 1st. All other reservations require a 3-night minimum and MAY NOT start or end on a Saturday.
What are your deposit requirements?
An initial non refundable deposit of $150 is required for all reservations. All summer reservations (June-August) will require a secondary deposit of $500 by April 1st of that year. In March you will receive a confirmation letter with a request for the secondary deposit. If you make your reservation after April 1st, you will be required to make the full deposit of $650.
What is your cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferable (based on the following). Terms for transfer are as follows: Summer reservations (June through August) require a cancellation notification prior to April 1. All other dates require a full 30 day notification of cancellation. Transfer of deposits are valid for up to one calendar year. January 15 through March 15, deposits may be transferable if snow and/or ice conditions are not suitable for good sledding, or safe fishing.
"NO SHOWS" will be charged the full balance due.
What is included with our cabins?
All cabins have a full kitchen with all of the basic dishes and much more! Some included items are: pots, pans including baking, dishes, large utensils and silverware, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, electric griddle and crock pot. All cabins have a picnic table and outdoor chairs on the porch. Each cabin also has a fire pit & charcoal grill (grills May - November only). Linen is provided for the beds. A set of 10 bath towels, and washcloths, 2 hand towels, kitchen dish cloths & towels. Paper towel, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap and garbage bags are provided for the duration of your stay. All cabins have 3 box fans. All 3 bedroom cabins have a washer/dryer.
Are all cabins considered lakefront?
No - Cabins are located on a Bluff, approximately 30 feet above the lake with a gorgeous view. Please see our Resort layout page to familiarize yourself with the location. Most of the cabins are in a horseshoe shape overlooking the lake. Four of the cabins (Unit #1 #10 #19 & #32) are considered lakefront units. These 4 cabins have an up-charge of $100 per week, as they are directly overlooking the lake.
What are your departure responsibilities?
Checkout time is 10:00 a.m. Please leave your key in your cabin on the kitchen counter or turn them at the office. Cabins must be left in a "reasonably" clean state. Dishes must be washed and put away. Stove, microwave, and refrigerator must be cleaned inside and out. Counter-tops, sink, table and chairs need to be wiped down. Please place dirty towels in a pile in the main bathroom. Please do not remove bedding - leave on bed. Garbage from all rooms in the cabin must be removed. You can dispose of your garbage as needed, at the dumpsters located at the front of the resort. Remove all items you brought with you. Floors must be picked up and left in a reasonably clean state. You will be charged an additional cleaning fee if the cabin is not "reasonably clean". We don't expect you to fully clean your cabin, simply leave it in a respectful manner.
Where are you located?
We are centrally located in the heart of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on the east shore of Big Manistique Lake, approximately four miles North of Curtis, and sixty-five miles northwest of Mackinac Bridge.
What should we bring with us?
Some items you may want to bring are: Extra pillows, blankets, beach/pool towels, laundry soap, blender, iron, hair dryer. There is a limited selection of groceries at the local stores, so you may want to bring your favorite items with you. Some other items you might want to add to your packing list: seasonings, coffee/creamer, bug spray, charcoal, children's beach and yard toys, shampoo and toiletry items, adjustable baby gate for your child or pet, campfire chairs and a clothesline for drying towels.
Can we have multiple parties paying for the cabin?
No - The person booking the reservation is responsible for full payment of the cabin at check in and any damages or other charges that might incur. Your credit card will be kept on file for this purpose.
What amenities do you have?
We have two outdoor heated pools (June-Labor day), an indoor pool with hot tub, basketball and volleyball courts, yard games and two children's playgrounds. Pool house offers a game room, pool tables, dart board, satellite TV. Kayaks are available to use during the summer, life jackets are provided. Pontoon, boat & rental hoists are available to rent mid May-September.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, a maximum of 2 friendly dogs are allowed per cabin. Sorry, no cats, birds or other animals are permitted. You must notify the office if you have brought a pet(s) and sign a policy. There is $100 charge per pet, per week. PLEASE do NOT allow pets on the furniture. They must be leashed at all times. If your cabin requires additional cleaning (such as pet hair on furniture), you will be charged an additional cleaning fee. All pet feces must be bagged and thrown away.
Can we smoke in our cabins?
All of our cabins are non-smoking, this includes electronic devices. You may smoke outside on the covered porch of your cabin. Please use the ashtrays provided on each picnic table. If your ashtray is missing, please ask the office for one. If there has been smoking in your cabin, you will be charged an additional cleaning fee of $150.
Do you have phone and internet service?
Yes - cell phone coverage is limited because of the rural area. We provide a guest phone in the game room located at the pool building. Wireless internet is now available throughout the Resort, free of charge.
Do you have play pens or roll away beds?
No - Sorry, we do not provide these items. The futon couches located in each cabin can be utilized as full size beds. Please supply your own linens and pillows if you plan to use the futons as beds.
